12 Acts for 12 Years: Turning Values into Action

As we celebrated our 12th anniversary in 2025, we took time to reflect on what defines us – not just as a company, but as a team of individuals committed to making a difference. The result was our “12 Acts for 12 Years” community service initiative, a meaningful way to turn our values into action.

At our core, we believe strong relationships are the foundation of everything we do. That belief doesn’t stop at our projects or partnerships – it extends into the communities where we live and work. This initiative was designed to reflect that commitment in a tangible, personal way.

Why We Give Back

Our work is rooted in collaboration, trust, and creating environments where people can thrive. Community service is a natural extension of that mindset. Whether we’re supporting a school district, a local nonprofit, or a neighbor in need, we approach it the same way we approach our work – with intention, care, and a focus on lasting impact.

“12 Acts for 12 Years” gave each team member the opportunity to contribute in a way that felt meaningful to them while also bringing us together around a shared purpose.

What We’ve Done

Over the past year, our team has carried out a wide range of service efforts – each one unique, but all connected by a common goal: making a positive impact.

Individually, team members supported their communities in ways both big and small. From donating school supplies, funding student programs, and supporting local food shelves, to volunteering at community events, mentoring students, and contributing to organizations like United Way and local service clubs, these acts reflect the diverse passions and generosity of our team.

We also stayed closely connected to the communities we serve professionally. Team members volunteered in schools, supported back-to-school initiatives, and gave their time to efforts that directly benefit students and educators.

As a team, we came together to show appreciation and support in meaningful ways. We hosted on-site appreciation meals for construction crews and school district staff in Hawley, Browerville, and Chisholm – recognizing the people who help bring these projects to life. To close out the year, we completed our 12th act together by partnering with United Way’s Home for Good initiative, assembling household essentials to help families feel supported at home.

Where We’re Going

While this initiative marked a milestone year, it’s only the beginning. Community service is not a one-time effort – it’s an ongoing commitment.

As we move forward, we’re excited to continue building this foundation. We plan to expand opportunities for both individual and team-based service, deepen our connections with the communities we serve, and find new ways to align our expertise with meaningful impact.

What began as “12 Acts for 12 Years” has evolved into something even bigger. Today, it continues as InGensa in Service– an ongoing reflection of our commitment to showing up, giving back, and making a difference in the communities we serve.

Because for us, success isn’t measured solely by the environments we help create – it’s also measured by the relationships we build and the communities we help strengthen along the way.

Wondering how to get where you need to go?

Globally, superintendents and school board members are frequently challenged with needing to move their districts forward, and there is often uncertainty with where to start or how to get there. Districts also experience regular leadership changes, and bringing their team together around a common vision is essential to the success of their schools.

How students learn and how teachers teach is changing. Students need educators to continually uphold the promise of providing a quality public education. As a school board member or superintendent, you are responsible to your community for governing and leading your district both effectively and efficiently, while keeping the best interests of students in mind. Under Minnesota law MS 120B.11, Subd. 2, the school board must approve an annual plan outlining current and future goals of their district to do just this.

Following a well-defined process to develop a strategic plan designed to assist district leadership in achieving consensus around key initiatives is imperative to the sustainability of a district. A strong, well thought out strategic plan will not only provide direction to leadership but also differentiate your district from those struggling with how to pivot in constantly changing times.

Through challenging periods of a world-wide pandemic, declining enrollment, providing diverse and equitable opportunities for students, aging facilities, and access to adequate funding, districts must think outside tradition to provide education in new and innovative ways. Strategic Planning is the district leadership’s visionary road map for governing while focusing on both student achievement and stakeholder needs, and will ultimately yield your district success.
